A Day With Stephen

Getting the train to meet Stephen at Hamilton Square, Birkenhead

Smile for the camera Stephen

Birkenhead Town Hall

Inside the town hall is the Wirral Museum. Displays include models of ships built at Cammel Laird's both warships and passenger ships including the Mauritania, life in Wirral during the blitz of the second world war and pictures from around Wirral from over the years showing the changes that have taken place. Birkenhead was the first place in Europe to have a Tram Street Car service. London and Manchester had both refused plans by George Francis Train who had built tramways in Chicago and other American cities.

Going to Liverpool

One of Birkenhead's Trams on display at Woodside Ferry Terminal.

In Liverpool

Stephen telling us about his skateboarding exploits

This is where I did my first Ollie and 360 flip

This is REALLY impressive.... Skateboarding WITHOUT a Skateboard

Telling how he lost his skateboard in the lake in Central Park.....

Central Park New York?? I asked, noooooo Liscard. Did you go in after it?? Yeah I did. AND???? I got wet

Looking Across The River to Wirral

Pier Head

Albert Dock

This fella (I never did get his name) is always at this place. We threw some money in his hat (actually, into his Banjo case) and he played a tune for us.

Thanks mate if you ever see this, send  an e-mail to ken@kenrowe.net and I'll add your name and link to a website if you have one.

We all live in a Yellow Submarine

More Skateboarding....

I'd slide down this rail, do a 360 at the bottom before landing

This is outside the Queen Elizabeth II Crown Courts in Liverpool.

See the security guy?? This is where Stephen lost another skateboard. Security called the police and they took his board.

Quiggins

This is a pub inside Quiggins

Quiggins is a rabbits warren of shops of all kinds of things weird. Well maybe not weird but off beat like everything for punk, skateboarders and.... just different, fascinating really. There is even an antiques shop with stuff like old movie cameras, record players and gargoyles from old architecture. Liverpool City council want to shut it down for some reason. I think Quiggins promotes freedom of Expression and creativity and I see nothing wrong with that.

Go to... Quiggins to find out more.

  HMV

In Liverpool City Centre: We decided to go into HMV, a huge Music/Video/Game store. (one of my fav stores) I only got this far when a big security guy came and TOLD me to stop filming. Hands were held in front of the camera with things said like..... NO COMMENT and bleep sounds were made as a huge fight broke out, Police arrived in riot gear and on horses firing tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannons everywhere as riots broke out throughout the city in protest.......

Well, not really, I just said ok and put the camera away
