Also known as McCaigs Folly

The Collosseum lookalike was commissioned by a local banker to provide work for local people it was supposed to house a large central tower with statues of the McCaig family but these never materialised.

The Bridge Over The Atlantic

This 200 year old bridge joins Seil Island to the mainland. The little strip of water was never given a name and so it is the bridge that crosses the Atlantic.

The weather was not good and the picture is no better but you can see the hail that was falling.

The Mull Of Kintyre

Visiting here it is easy to see why Paul McCartney enjoyed living here and wrote a song about it. It is a very beautiful and peaceful place.

Looking over the water you can see Rathlin Island which is off the coast of Ireland.

For Scotland this is a very historical place. It was here that Scotti a Gaelic speaking Irish tribe settled around 300ad to establish the kingdom of Dalriada. This is truly the birthplace of Scotland.

It was here that Saint Columba arrived in 563 bringing Christianity to Scotland.
