Loch Duich in the evening light

Eilean Donnan Castle sits on Loch Duich. This picture is taken just a short distance from where the following castle pictures are taken.

This has become one of my all time favourite pictures. I had of course noticed the spectacular scene with the mountains and beams of light streaming through the clouds. I had seen the ducks taking off and followed them to get this great shot.

Peter quite successfully captured the reflection of the castle in the fast incoming tide.

We had arrived at Eilean Donnan in the evening. The sun was already quite low in the sky, so we settled at this place to take what pictures we could.

This is one of Scotland's most spectacular castles and it has been prominent in many movies including Highlander

Eilean Donnan (Island Of Donnan) is at the meeting point of three Sea Loch's.... Loch Long, Loch Duich and Loch Alsh. There has been a fort on this island since Pictish times. Today's solid rock castle dates from the Early 1200's

For those who have the calendar, this is the picture that is on the front. I like it because of the way the turrets, chimneys and shadows on the roof match the shadows on the mountain behind. You can see this even more with the close-up picture above this one but on the calendar I wanted the full picture including the bridge.
