Buachaille Etive Moor

This picture is taken from Rannoch Moor looking toward Glen Etive.

 This picture by Peter Rowe

A few years ago, Peter had sent me this picture. Of course it is a great picture and had taken a prominent place in the Scotland section of the website.

On this journey through Scotland we went back there and I tried to re-create the picture from where Peter 'thought' he had taken it. This is still a great picture and so still has a top place in this section. My attempts to take the same picture did not quite work.....

Ok here are the excuses..... The place he told me he took the picture from was not the same place that Peter got his shot, the angle of the big jaggy hill is different. Well actually that is the only excuse I've got.

So below are my pictures.....

This picture was taken in July 2008

A Wee Hoos (a little house)

I have been very fortunate to have had the chance to travel here and there but always you will come across a house in the middle of nowhere and wonder, who lives there and why would you even think of building a house in this place, how do these people live??? Maybe it's not so bad now in the 22nd century, but even from here it will still be quite a commute to work but in the distant past when this house was originally built??

To the left of Buachaille Moor, Glen Etive. To the Right, Glen Coe.

Just before you pass Buachaille Etive Moor and into Glen Coe is a small road that leads into Glen Etive. This picture and the following two are taken from there.

Away into Glen Etive I found this little fella (with his family). There is no zoom lens used here! This picture is taken right from my car, I could have reached out to touch this little Bambi.

Loch Etive

Yes that is rain on the lens, I must buy a BIG umbrella
